Conferences can be a wonderful educational and networking experience. However, they are not work vacations. You are expected to collect and distribute information internally that allows our organization to level up in a variety of ways. Here’s what you’re expected to do when you attend conferences.

During Conference Sessions

  • Create a Google Doc
  • Take Notes in a similar fashion to what is described in the Meeting Minutes process
  • Follow the conversation on Twitter to capture resources
  • Download the speaker’s deck and upload them to DropBox in Learning & Research/Conferences/[Conference Name][YEAR]

After Conference Sessions

  • Distill notes into key takeaways
  • Post in Slack with a DropBox link to the deck in the #conferences channel

Attending Conference Networking Events

When you attend a conference networking event, you are still representing iPullRank, Your behavior is still to be governed by local law, employee conduct specifications in the handbook primarily and the conference’s respective code of conduct secondarily.

We do not insist or require that any team member that feels uncomfortable in social situations look to strike up conversations with strangers, but if conversations naturally happen, keep in mind the company’s hiring, new business and marketing goals as you interact with people at these functions.
