This onboarding course was highly educational and provides a lot more insight into the overall process at iPullRank. Everything is organized and easy to understand which makes it super comfortable and less nerve-wracking in the beginning as a new hire. The walkthrough videos make it a breeze to get a general understanding of how all of the tools function and provide clarity and transparency into the company philosophy. In short, I walked away from this course with a clear understanding of what’s expected of me, how iPullRank functions, how to execute, and how to personify iPullRank’s PROUD tenets!

One issue I did stumble upon was the course not functioning properly in the very beginning, but the issue was quickly resolved. Overall an excellent welcome to the IPR family.

These videos were interesting and overall very helpful to understanding the ins and outs of iPullRank’s processes, and I particularly appreciated the attention to communication, accountability, and the PROUD philosophy throughout. However, I did have some specific difficulties with them.

Video is one of the more difficult formats for me to follow, especially when there are no closed captions. To help myself follow along, I prefer to take notes in a separate window. However, the platform for these videos is designed to automatically pause videos whenever a viewer switches to another tab. I understand that the intent of this is to ensure people actually watch them instead of letting them roll in the background, but for me, it simply prevented effective note-taking. An easy way to improve this would be to allow these videos to play in the background. The addition of captions would go a long way as well, but I understand that would be a lot more labor-intensive.

I also noticed that several of the processes described in these videos are obsolete. In particular, the section on time and workflow tracking goes into great detail about Teamwork, which we are in the process of switching away from.

I found the overall on-boarding process extremely informative. Coming from an environment that lacked this type of thorough approach really made me appreciate the time and consideration iPullRank puts into their team members. The videos were not dry or boring (my favorite parts were when Mike gestures to something that doesn’t appear – looking forward to seeing the final version of this). The only aspect that tripped me up a bit was the wording on some of the quizzes, and there were a few questions that did not seem to have the correct answer mapped. For example, there was a question asking ‘When creating a deliverable, what is one thing you have to do for our quality assurance of Spreadsheets?’ While the video explained to unhide tabs and delete customer data, the correct answer for this was ‘Run all macros.’ Another example was for ‘What is not an aspect of progress documentation’ which I responded ‘Priority’ but the correct answer was ‘Data’ even though the video and material state that WAS an aspect. I’m very excited to apply what I’ve learned during this process while embodying the PROUD philosophy in my work!
